The Brief

London Partners is a Melbourne-based boutique financial solutions company. It had recently completed a project with Seesaw Design, a graphic design company, to create new, more effective corporate branding. Now it was time to bring the company’s online image into alignment with that new look and feel. Melbourne- based Design Industries, which regularly shares clients with Seesaw Design, was eager to tackle the project.

The Delivery

Design Industries and Seesaw Design worked hand-in-hand to deliver a powerful, professional website with a strong backend content management system (CMS). Recognising London Partners’ strong visual appeal, they incorporated many photos while building the site to attract current and potential clients. They also incorporated a Flash banner, using it to highlight the company’s key messages while featuring many of London Partners’ unique images.

The final product is clearly aligned with the company’s new corporate branding and conveys the company’s professionalism and vision in an attractive and compelling way.

Patsy Bloom, one of the founders of Petplan UK, initiated Petplan some 30 years ago. Today, Petplan UK have achieved over a 25% market penetration and is now a world wide brand name insuring well above 1 million pets. PetPlan arrived upon Australia shores in September 2004 and are well and truly on the same path as the UK.

As technology advances in the veterinary industry, better treatment is more widely available for our much loved family members. But unfortunately, the premium care can come with quite an expensive vet bill. A study conducted through petnet.com has disclosed that 7.5 million Australians own a pet, and yet less than 1% of them are insured. This is quite a staggering figure considering that 1 in 3 pets need unexpected veterinary treatment every year and that a simple broken leg can cost up to $4000 to repair.

From the support of Petplan UK and the Australian vets, Petplan’s portfolio is increasing up to 10% every month and is certainly carving the path to assist pet owners and their costly vet bills. With a revamp of our website in 2007, our new mascots, Pat and Pickles were introduced and now almost 50% of new business comes through our website.

The website has been built with a highly customized and modern design. Petplan Australia & New Zealand is now quoting complex insurance premiums and its e-commerce function allows customers to apply and pay for their insurance over the web. In addition, an intranet / extranet has been deployed, allowing channel partners to register and mange their accounts.

Technically speaking, the website has a highly concentrated focus on usability standards, including the W3C standards. It also has an XHTML / CSS build and works across multiple browsers and platforms.

Petplan reports that 99% of all breeder registrations and activity are now performed via the website. The web design and build have won numerous accolades and awards (see below), and this experience has proven beyond all doubt that big things can grow from small beginnings.

Within the last couple of months, Petplan have expanded to our kiwi friends, where we insured our first horse within the first 3 hours of opening the new office.

For more information or a quote, jump on their website: www.petplan.com.au
